Hugh D. Pace

Hugh D. Pace is President of Hugh Pace & Associates, LLC and serves on a number of advisory boards. He consults with a number of firms on guiding market-driven profitable growth through business performance assessments and market analysis. Hugh's approach drives success from systematic business planning, strategy development and execution. He is also a mentor and coach to senior executives who seek to build their leadership skills.

Hugh is a faculty member at the Mahler Company, as well as a graduate of the Mahler Advanced Management Skills Program.

Hugh was President and CEO of Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA), a $500 million business. Under Hugh's leadership PTNA achieved record revenue, SOM and financial performance levels by growing aftermarket sales and margins, and by enriching the original equipment sales mix.

Before joining Pirelli, he was President of privately held UK based Smithers Rapra Technology (SRT), a polymer oriented research, testing and consulting services business. Hugh led SRT out of bankruptcy, reorganized the business, made key hires and introduced new and highly effective performance metrics.

Hugh began his career with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he rose to corporate officer and President of the Asia Pacific SBU, a $1.3 billion business that included 10,000 associates, 11 manufacturing facilities and annual sales of 20 million tires. He transformed the Asia Pacific operations into market beating growth businesses while establishing records in profit margins and working capital efficiencies. Early in his career he lived in Latin America for 21 years and advanced through a series of sales and marketing assignments and country manager positions.

He has held director positions in the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the American Chambers of Commerce in Mexico and Argentina and was a founding director of Goodyear's Women's Initiatives in Leadership.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Hugh graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He received an MBA from The Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona.
