Tom is the founder of Thomson-Roy Advisors, a consulting firm that works with companies and individuals in the US and China to build strategic leadership and international growth. His firm works with clients both directly and in partnership with a variety of business, organizational and leadership development firms in the US and China.
During fifteen of his 28-year career with the Michelin Group, Tom was in charge of business development, finance and legal affairs in Asia-Pacific, spearheading investment projects worth over $500 million. For the last six years of his corporate career, Tom built and led a global team that created and implemented international strategic processes and senior leadership global decision-making development programs.
Tom’s education includes an undergraduate degree in history from Princeton University, a law degree from the University of Virginia and extensive work with leading strategy and innovation academics and professionals in the US and Europe. He has over thirty-five years of experience in international risk prevention and management in the US, South America, Europe and Asia.
Tom is currently a member of the Advisory Board of East West Associates, a US and Shanghaibased company that assists investors with prospective and existing activities in Asia, particularly in China, including entry strategies, investment start-up, performance enhancement, problem solving and transaction planning and execution. He is on the advanced senior management development faculty of the Mahler Company. He is also an instructor in international strategic leadership in the MBA program at George Washington University and other graduate international business programs in the US, Europe and China.
